Champions league football resumes with a key focus on key games on Tuesday

This week’s UEFA Champions League action features two exciting matchups, with Real Madrid taking on Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal hosting Shakhtar Donetsk.

Less than five months after claiming the UEFA Champions League title against Dortmund, Real Madrid faces them again, this time at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Madrid enters this match after a surprising 1-0 defeat to Lille, their first loss in 15 Champions League games.

However, they remain strong at home, with an impressive record of 11 wins and 3 draws in their last 14 UCL matches, including a solid history against Dortmund at this venue.

Dortmund, on the other hand, comes off a commanding 7-1 victory over Celtic, showcasing their attacking prowess this season.

Despite a recent hiccup against Union Berlin, they rebounded with a 2-1 win against St. Pauli.

They will be eager to continue their momentum as they look to challenge Madrid, a team they have struggled against in the past.

Arsenal vs. Shakhtar Donetsk

In the other match, Arsenal aims to bounce back from a rare defeat after losing 2-0 to Bournemouth, their first competitive loss since April.

Manager Mikel Arteta will be focused on getting the team back on track in the Champions League as they prepare to face Shakhtar Donetsk.

Arsenal boasts an impressive home record in Europe, remaining unbeaten in their last nine UCL group stage matches, all of which featured clean sheets.

Shakhtar is also in search of a turnaround, having started their domestic season slowly.

They are yet to secure a victory in this UCL campaign and will be keen to change their fortunes. With a long-standing struggle to win in England, Shakhtar faces an uphill battle against a confident Arsenal side.

Other notable matches include AC Milan's clash with Club Brugge. The Italian side has struggled in the new version of the Champions League losing two of their opening matches.

This has put them in a dangerous position 11 places behind their Tuesday opponents. They will be working hard to get their first win considering their home advantage.

Aston Villa managed a shock win against German giants Bayern Munich and will be aiming to continue the same. They sit sixth on the league phase table with two wins.

They take on Bologna who are far away behind Aston Villa in 26th place. Aston Villa are in hot form after beating Fulham away from home despite going a man down. They managed to keep their cool and grab the domestic league points.

Juventus take on Stuttgart after a win in Serie A. Like Aston Villa they managed a win against Lazio beating them 1-0. This will be the first ever meeting between Juventus and Stuttgart and the Italian side is favoured to win this match.
