The Nigerian international was in action for Porto in their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid but did not finish the game.
Super Eagles star Zaidu Sanusi had a mixed night as Porto beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 in their final Champions League group game at Estádio do Dragão on Tuesday evening.
It was Sanusi's sixth Champions League appearance in as many games for Porto this season, starting a gain ahead of Wendell in the left-back position.
Sanusi gave a good account of himself, making two clearances and winning two duels. However, the night ended early for him as he was taken off Wendel in the 53rd minute due to an injury.
Although the extent of the injury is not yet known, Sanusi is set to miss Porto's league game against Pacos Ferreira on Saturday, November 5.
Nonetheless, his injury did not affect Porto's rhythm as Sergio Conceicao's men finished top of their group with a win over Diego Simeone's men.
Porto got off the blocks quickly as Mehdi Taremi put them ahead in the fifth minute. The Dragons then doubled their lead moments later through Stephen Eustaquiao.
The Portuguese champions took a two-goal lead into the break, but Atletico came out charging for the second half. But for all their effort, the Spanish side had to wait until the fourth minute of added time before pulling one back.
Simeone's boys pulled one back through an own goal from Ivan Marcano, but it was a little late for a comeback.
The result means Porto finished top of their group ahead of Club Brugge, who played out a goalless draw against Bayer Leverkusen.
