Tottenham relied heavily on goalkeeper Fraser Forster to sneak a point against Rangers in the Europa League

Both Cyriel Dessers and Leon Balogun got a chance to see some Europa League action as they came off the bench to help Rangers see out a 1-1 draw against Premier League side Tottenham in the Europa League.

Although they no longer feature often with the Super Eagles, the duo were keen to impress but were unable to leave a mark on the game after entering the game as substitutes.

Balogun came on first, in the 35th minute, for the injured John Souttar, while Dessers came on late in the game for Rangers’ goalscorer, Hamza Igamane, who was also forced off with an injury.

After Igamane gave Rangers an early second-half lead, Tottenham had to rely on a late Dejan Kulusevski goal and the heroics of Fraser Forster to hang on to the point away from home.

The draw leaves Rangers and Tottenham eighth and ninth on the Europa League table respectively, with both sides likely to advance to the next stage.
