Three Marseille players attacked after final Ligue 1 match

According to La Provence, the criminals attempted to hijack the players' cars and even resorted to shooting at them as they tried to escape. Fortunately, none of the players were injured during the attack despite two bullet holes found in the driver’s side door of one of the cars, and another car being hit in the trunk.

AFCON stars escape tricky situation

Onana and Moumbagna have both represented Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations, with the former winning a bronze medal in the 2021 edition, while the latter was part of the squad that was knocked out of the 2023 edition by Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Meite, although Ivorian, has never been to the AFCON tournament having never played for the Elephants’ senior team. The Marseille star has, however, turned out for Ivory Coast’s Under-23 team on one occasion.
