Muhidin slammed his side's failure to be “alert” as Tusker’s Ugandan striker Deogracious Ojok scored a goal almost from "half a chance".

Twahir Muhiddin is far from pleased after his Bandari side failed to take advantage of the numerous chances they created in the loss to Tusker in their opening FKFPL match played at the Mbaraki Grounds on Sunday afternoon.

Muhidin slammed his side's failure to be “alert” as Tusker’s Ugandan striker Deogracious Ojok scored a goal almost from half a chance, when he found the back of the net after being found with a hopeful floated cross from fellow Ugandan John Byamukama.

Muhiddin, who is seeking to help Bandari end their quest for an FKFPL title, is not pleased with the result.

“The result is not pleasing at all. I told the boys at half time that football is about taking your chances,” Muhidin said.

“We got our chances but missed them, but they got a half-chance and used it because we were not alert.”

The vastly experienced tactician was handed the job on a permanent basis after helping the team finish the season on a high as interim coach following the sacking of Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani at the beginning of May.

It is the first loss of Muhiddin’s current stint as coach, after he won six of the Dockers’ last eight matches in charge of the side last season.

Sashiri Nahimana was named man of the match for his display against the Brewers as he controlled proceedings of the match, dictating tempo and spraying progressive passes that got his team on the front foot, but they could not take their chances and were made to pay for them.

Bandari will face Sofapaka in their second match of the FKFPL season hoping to bounce back to winning ways.
