Ogam has been named the most outstanding player at the club for November 2024, walking home with a personalised trophy and a shopping voucher worth Ksh 50,000.

Tusker striker Ryan Wesley Ogam has been named the club’s most outstanding player for November 2024, marking a significant milestone in his debut season.

In recognition of his stellar performances, Ogam received a personalised trophy and a shopping voucher worth Ksh 50,000.

The award ceremony capped off a remarkable month for the 22-year-old forward, who has rapidly established himself as a key player for the 12-time Kenyan champions. Ogam emerged victorious in the club's internal voting process, garnering 58.54% of the votes cast by players and the technical bench.

He surpassed stiff competition from teammates, including captain Charles Momanyi, who secured 21.94% of the votes, and George Kaddu and Shaphan Siwa, who tied with 9.76%.

Ogam’s debut in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) has been nothing short of electrifying. He announced his arrival with a brace against Kariobangi Sharks in Tusker's second match of the season, followed by a goal against Kakamega Homeboyz.

Despite a minor injury that sidelined him for matches against Kenya Police, FC Talanta, and Ulinzi Stars, the striker returned in late October to make an immediate impact.

He netted twice against KCB and continued his scoring streak with goals against Nairobi City Stars and Mara Sugar, bringing his tally to an impressive seven goals in nine league matches. His performances have not only earned him club recognition but also a maiden call-up to the national team for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against South Sudan.

Tusker Brands Marketing Manager, Christine Kariuki, lauded Ogam's contribution to the team and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to fostering excellence.

“We are proud of Ogam’s dedication to play for the badge since joining the team. In his first season at Tusker, he is already showing that he is at the right place. We wish him and the team continued success for the rest of the season,” she stated.

Kariuki emphasised the importance of collective effort in propelling Tusker FC to greater heights. “Our unrelenting support towards making Tusker FC the best team in the league will continue, and we ask every member of the team to continue playing their part in making this a reality.”

Speaking after receiving his award, Ogam expressed his delight at the recognition and vowed to continue giving his best for the team. “It is so humbling to come to a club like Tusker and win such an award in your initial months in the team. It shows the confidence the team has in me, and I will continue putting in great shifts to ensure we achieve our goals as a team,” he said.

He also extended his gratitude to the club’s management, coaching staff, and teammates for their support. “We hope to build on our recent performance to ensure we have a good season,” he added.

Tusker FC currently sits fourth in the FKFPL standings with 15 points after nine matches. They face Murang’a Seal on Sunday with a chance to climb to second place. With Ogam in blistering form and the team’s unwavering support, Tusker's ambitions for a strong campaign look well within reach.
