Tusker have adjusted their pre-season friendly lineup in Uganda focusing on team synergy and integrating new players for upcoming challenges.

Twelve-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Tusker FC have announced a change in their pre-season friendly lineup during their camp in Uganda.

Originally slated to face Mbale Heroes, the Brewers will now go up against Bright Stars FC on Tuesday afternoon at Wankulukuku Stadium.

Tusker, who arrived in Kampala on Sunday night, settled into their training regime, beginning with a light session on Monday morning.

This shift in plans aims to better prepare the team for the upcoming challenges of the new season.

In an interview, interim coach Charles Okere commented on the importance of the pre-season preparations.

“This is an important part of our pre-season training because it gives us a chance to build team synergy and cohesion. We are also looking at improving the team wholistically in terms of the technical, tactical, and mental aspect,” said Okere.

Okere also noted the integration of new players into the team dynamics.

“We also have all new players now locked in and this is an opportunity for us to further gel and understand each other. I want to thank our sponsors Tusker for making this possible for us,” he added.

Following their match against Bright Stars, Tusker FC will continue their pre-season tour with a game against Uganda Cup champions Kitara FC at Masindi Stadium on Thursday.

The tour will conclude with a match against newly promoted side Lugazi FC at the Lugazi Stadium on Saturday.

Okere believes these matches are crucial for assessing the team's readiness.

“These tough matches are really vital because they will show us where we are as a team and what we need to work on as we go back home to prepare for the new season,” he explained.

Kitara, one of Tusker’s upcoming opponents, is also under the spotlight as they prepare for their representation of Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup against a Libyan side, which is yet to be confirmed.

Tusker's pre-season tour is not only a platform for the team to hone their skills through competitive matches but also serves as an opportunity to blend new signings into the squad seamlessly.

Last season, Tusker finished second in the FKF Premier League, trailing the champions Gor Mahia by eight points.

With the new season on the horizon the Brewers are eager to reclaim their title and believes that rigorous pre-season preparations in Uganda could be the key to a successful campaign.
