Tusker have officially announced the departure of 11 first team players from the team following the expiry of their contracts, including four Harambee Stars players.

12-time FKFPL champions Tusker have announced more departures to their playing unit, with upto 11 first-team players leaving the club following the expiry of their contracts.

Eric Kapaito, Daniel Sakari, Brian Bwire, Eric Zakayo, Stewart Omondi, Collins Otieno, Jimmy Mbugua, Eugene Asike, Boniface Onyango, Eric Otieno and Ibrahim Joshua have now left the club to venture on to greener pastures as the club shakes up both its playing and technical staff for a new journey.

Kapaito joined the club on a one year contract but is now set to move abroad to Tanzania, as is Brian Bwire, who is set to join Polokwane United.

Daniel Sakari and Eric Zakayo are in talks to join Kenya Police, while the future remains uncertain for the other players.

The official announcement comes a day after long-standing head coach Robert Matano would be leaving the club after the expiry of his contract and indifferences with the club’s management, led by Charles Gacheru.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of these players for their dedication, hard work, and contributions to the club,” a statement released by the club said.

“Their efforts have been integral to our achievements and their commitment to the club will always be appreciated.

“As we embark on this new season, Tusker FC is focused on strengthening the squad and building a team that is poised for success. The club’s management and coaching staff are working diligently to ensure a competitive and exciting squad for the new season.

“We wish these players all the best in their future endeavors and thank them once again for their invaluable contributions to this great club.”

It remains to be seen how the club will reassemble itself during the pre-season as they attempt to have a better season than they did last year.
