Thomas Tuchel tastes defeat for the first time with Bayern as they are eliminated from the DFB Pokal by Freiburg
New Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is already finding that life in Bavaria is not a lap of luxury as he tasted defeat and cup elimination in only his second game in charge of the Bundesliga leaders.
Tuchel claimed in his first-ever interview as Bayern Munich boss that he wanted to win it all, but that dream has been met with an early reality check after Freiburg claimed their first-ever win in Munich to knock the Bavarians out of the DFB Pokal at the quarterfinal stage.

New Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel sounded bullish about the team's chances of success this season during his first media presentation
A first-half goal from Nicolas Hofler and an extra-time penalty from Lucas Holer were enough to overturn Bayern's early lead gotten through Dayot Upamecano and hand Tuchel his first Bayern Munich loss in his first Cup fixture with the club
How it happened
Bayern took control of the game early on and dominated possession and scoring chances. The reward for their early ascendancy as Dayot Upamecano rose above the Freiburg defence to head in a Joshua Kimmich corner in the 19th minute.
The goal seemed to wake Freiburg up, and the visitors rallied to find an equaliser through Nicolas Hofler, who threatened to rip the net from its hinges with a ferocious drive from distance.
Spurred on by their equaliser, Freiburg continued to threaten Bayern's goal but the gaps in their defence nearly let the hosts in as Leroy Sane and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting came close to giving Bayern the lead before the break.
After the halftime interval, Freiburg continued to press Bayern without fear, but this almost backfired after Benjamin Pavard sent a header crashing off the crossbar from the Bavarians' best chance of the game.
Bayern went close again in the latter stages of the game as Serge Gnabry sent his late effort a few inches the wrong side of the Freiburg goal with goalkeeper Mark Flekken stranded.
Freiburg would make them pay for their profligacy as a Jamal Musiala handball in the penalty area in additional time gave the visitors the chance to make history and knock Bayern Munich out of the DFB Pokal.
Forward Lucas Holer stepped up and wrote his name in the history books as the first Freiburg player to score a winning goal against Bayern Munich at the Allianz arena, sending his team into the semifinals of the DFB Pokal for the second year running.
