Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel claims he is afraid of speaking on rumours linking Suer Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to the club
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has backed down from speaking about a possible transfer for Super Eagles forward Osimhen fearing that he could upset his opposite number in Napoli.
Tuchel coy with Osimhen comments
Tuchel is believed to be a big admirer of Osimhen and the Bayern boss is rumoured to have okayed a move for the centre-forwards amidst the Bavarian’s shortage of options in that position, but the German manager has refused to comment officially on the subject, dodging the question when it was thrown at him.

Victor Osimhen has resumed first-team training ahead of the Serie A weekend
Tuchel was speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s tie against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga this weekend when he was asked about his thoughts on a possible deal for Osimhen, but he refused to comment because he feared the wrath of Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti.
“I’ve an opinion on that [possible Osimhen transfer], but I know how things work. It would spill over to Italy, my colleague there [Spalletti] will say: why doesn't Tuchel keep his mouth shut?
“I'm not going to talk about players of other clubs.”
Bayern Munich hot on Osimhen’s heels
Osimhen’s incredible 2022/23 form, which has seen him score 25 goals and assist 5 more goals in 29 games, has earned him many admirers, including Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester United and French giants Paris Saint-Germain, and German titans Bayern Munich.
The Super Eagles forward is spoilt for choice, but could be tempted to join Bayern Munich with the German’s need for a centre-forward the most glaring of the teams interested.
The only stumbling block that could come between Osimhen and Bayern Munich will be his price tag, as Napoli insist on a club record €150 million while the Bavarians have earmarked only €100 million to fill up their centre-forward slot.
As Osimhen is clearly a special talent, Bayern Munich might be tempted to pay full price, especially if the rumours of Tuchel’s admiration are true, but they might also go for Randal Kolo Muani who would cost less as an alternative.
