Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochetino has revealed that bringing Cole Palmer to the club was not his decision.

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that signing Cole Palmer was a decision taken by Chelsea's sporting directors.

Palmer has joined the Blues from champions Manchester City in a deal that could be worth more than £40m.

Cole Palmer to Chelsea is OFFICIALLY a DONE DEAL!

Despite being pleased to add another talented offensive player to the squad, the Chelsea boss stressed the point that Palmer's signing was a decision taken by others.

He said: "I think the sporting director and the owner of course, but the sporting director it was his idea to add him to the squad. I think he’s fit for the project. Talented player, of course."

"I think the quality is there, it’s great potential and of course now he needs to settle here and prove and show that he’s better than his teammates and to play. It’s hard to fight for his place."
