LaLiga giants Barcelona have reportedly been handed a huge boost in their attempts to land their summer transfer target from Manchester City.

Barcelona's chances of re-signing Joao Cancelo from Manchester City have received a boost as the Portugal international has turned down offers from other clubs, including Juventus, to push for a return to the Nou Camp.

Although his loan spell at Barcelona last season didn't include a purchase clause, the club remains in talks with Manchester City to secure his services.

Cancelo set for Barcelona return

According to SPORT, Manchester City had been insisting on a permanent transfer but they have now softened their stance and may accept another loan deal to allow Cancelo to return to Spain to play for new manager Hansi Flick.

Cancelo's desire to join Barcelona has been made clear to City boss Pep Guardiola, and the player's determination to force through a move has strengthened Barcelona's position in negotiations.

Meanwhile, the Blaugrana remain hot on the heels of Spain winger Nico Williams.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas revealed in a recent interview that the club was close to being able to afford the signing.

Williams will be in action for Spain in the EURO 2024 final against England in Berlin.
