Despite signing a one-year contract extension in December 2023, Muller’s playing time became limited in recent seasons.
Still, Muller's passion for the game and loyalty to Bayern never wavered.
Speaking in a heartfelt message to fans on social media, Muller expressed a deep love for the club and his willingness to continue, even in a reduced role.
"Even after all these years, regardless of the minutes I play, I still really enjoy being on the pitch with the lads and fighting for titles together for our team," Muller wrote as quoted by Sky Sports.
"I could have easily imagined taking on this role next year as well."
However, Bayern’s leadership made the decision not to offer a new contract beyond 2025.
