After a disappointing Super Eagles defeat to Rwanda, former Nigeria international Victor Ikpeba has revealed that the team failed to step up and turn up during the game.
Rwanda recorded her first-ever win over Nigeria on Monday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium when the Amavubi defeated the three-time African champions 2-1.
Reacting to the defeat, the former Monaco star voiced his disappointment with the Super Eagles' performance against Rwanda.
Ikpeba was a key player in the Nigerian team that won the 1994 African Nations Cup and the Olympic football gold medalist in 1996; he played 31 international matches and scored seven goals for the Super Eagles.

Ikpeba said on SuperSport TV that some of the players are not good enough to be part of the national team.
He added that there is a need to call a new set of players for the national team.
