LaLiga president Javier Tebas has revealed that Barcelona are close to getting the finances required to sign one of the standout performers at EURO 2024.

Lamine Yamal and all Barcelona fans around the world will view this as excellent news as LaLiga president Javier Tebas recently revealed that the club are close to being able to afford Athletic Club winger, Nico Williams.

Williams, 22, has a €58 million release clause in his contract, and Barcelona president Joan Laporta declared last week that the club could indeed finance the signing of the Spanish international

However, Barcelona are currently surpassing their LaLiga-imposed annual spending limit, which is hindering their ability to register new signings.

Tebas believes Barcelona are close to signing Nico Williams

Nico Williams has scored one goal but has been one of Spain most exciting players at the EURO 2024.

Ahead of the new season, Tebas has expressed optimism about the Blaugrana's improving financial situation

"If Barça return to a 1:1 spending limit [permitted to invest anything they raise in transfers or savings on wages], meaning they aren't above their cap, they will be able to do so," Tebas told Diario Sport.

"You have to think that with Barcelona's efforts to reduce their wage bill by more than €200m and other measures that have already taken place within the club that have nothing to do with their financial levers [selling assets], it is perfectly possible to bring in a player like Nico Williams."

Williams has starred at EURO 2024, helping Spain reach the final where they will face England.
