The former Harambee Stars coach has revealed why he might not be coming back to the dugout any time soon
Former Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi is not in a hurry to get back into coaching following his disappointing spell at Wazito FC.
Kimanzi was sacked by Wazito in January 2022 after 14 months in charge following a string of poor results in the first half of the season.
At the time, the club had been one of the biggest spenders in the FKF Premier League when Dubai-based businessman Ricardo Badoer was bankrolling them.

FOOTBALL ‘There is no vacancy’ - Kimanzi coy on speculation linking him to KCB coaching job
The former Harambee Stars coach has distanced himself from reports that he is set to succeed ‘Zico’ in the KCB dugout
The results, however, did not much the outlay as Kimanzi, who joined the club in November 2020, finished ninth in his first season before they found themselves in the bottom three by the time he left.
The experienced tactician, however, feels the club let him down by ‘not delivering’ what they had initially promised, leading to the poor results and their eventual falling out, something he is not ready for again.
“I am not sure if I want to come back. The impact of my disappointment with Wazito was so huge and that is why I decided to stay away from local football completely,” Kimanzi told Pulse Sports.
“I put in a lot of effort to bring the necessary changes but there was nothing coming through, the cub was not serious.

The Dockers are in the market for a new coach to steer the team next season.
“I will have to choose carefully my next job because I don’t want to waste my efforts again. The interested club must show their budget and a clear plan.”
Kimanzi’s sentiments come at a time when he has been linked with the KCB coaching job as the club reportedly weighs its options on whether to stick with Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno or let him leave.
The former Tusker FC, Sofapaka and Mathare United coach has since distanced himself from the speculation but it seems whoever will be interested in his services will have to come with a proper plan to persuade him back to the dugout after his sour spell with Wazito.
