Erik Ten Hag counts on Marcus Rashford signing a new contract with Manchester United
Manchester United’s manager, Erik Ten Hag, has revealed some news about Marcus Rashford’s future at the club and has hinted that Rashford will continue at the club for the foreseeable future by signing a new contract.
Ten Hag believes that Rashford will a new contract at Manchester United
The striker in red-hot form has been courted by many of Europe’s big names, like Paris Saint-Germain, but his manager has revealed that Rashford is more likely to stay at Manchester United than move elsewhere.
Speaking after Manchester United’s 3-0 hammering of Nottingham Forest, Ten Hag revealed that he believed Rashford’s mind to be made up and that he considers Old Trafford his home.
Rashford’s current contract expires in June 2024, leaving just over a year left.
This has prompted rumours that Rashford might consider not signing a new deal, and opt for a move abroad.
All that talk has been shut down by Ten Hag who said. “It’s confidential — but I think Marcus understands Manchester United is his club
“Marcus knows that in this team he’s playing his best football. We need him”
Rashford's post-World Up form has been impeccable
Ten Hag's remarks are unsurprising given Rashford's importance to Manchester United this season and the fact that he appears to be a completely different player since the 2022 World Cup.
Rashford has scored a stunning 10 goals in 10 games for Manchester United and most recently put Nottingham Forest to the sword in their EFL Cup tie.
In total, he has scored 18 times in all competitions for Manchester United, and also assisted a further six, solidifying his claim to the title of most in-form forward in Europe this season.
