Nathan Tella is starring for Bayer Leverkusen after he was dropped from the Super Eagles AFCON 2023 party.
Anglo-Nigerian Nathan Tella demonstrated once again why Jose Peseiro was wrong to overlook him for the AFCON 2023 after he scored twice in Bayer Leverkusen’s win against Darmstadt.
Pulse Sports reports that the former Southampton winger scored both goals as Leverkusen extended their incredible record in the Bundesliga with a comfortable 2-0 win on Saturday.

Nigerian identifies 'Enyeama-Nwabali's head shape' as secret to Super Eagles' goalkeeping success
Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has joined legend Vincent Enyeama to find favour in the eyes of Nigerians.
Tella and Super Eagles
The 24-year-old was named in Nigeria’s 40-man provisional squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
However, Nigeria coach, Peseiro, eventually named his final 25-man team without the forward who joined Leverkusen last summer.
Tella has since put the disappointment behind him to star for Xabi Alonso’s title-chasing side in the Bundesliga.
The versatile forward netted in either half to help the club remain unbeaten in the German league, taking his tally to three goals in as many games.
His dazzling performance was a reminder of the quality Nigeria passed up by not selecting Tella.
At just 24, he has time on his side to force his way into his country's plans. But Tella provided a glimpse of what the Super Eagles are missing with a mature display belying his years.
His form could spark a clamour for the Super Eagles to finally give him a chance when international football returns in March.
