Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has reportedly entered discussions with the French club Valenciennes to take over 60-100% of the club in a deal that could amount to €10 million.
Since he twice attempted to purchase London giants Arsenal, in 2016 and 2020, it's been clear that the Nigerian businessman has had his eye set on European football.

Dangote in talks with Valenciennes
President of the Ligue 2 side Eddy Zdziech, had earlier in April, confirmed to the French newspaper L’Equipe that there was indeed a “rapprochement” with the founder, chairman, and CEO of the Dangote Group.
According to a report by Entrpendre, the Nigerian could edge the owners of Premier League club Southampton, to the ownership of the French club.
Dangote is said to want to be the sole owner of the club and wishes to buy 100% of the capital of the club, although the current president Zdziech, holds around 60% of the capital.
It is also understood that the 66-year-old does not just want to own the football club in France, but wants to own a club he can make a major player in European football.

English club Sheffield United could be another European club with a Nigerian owner in not distant future following conversations with businessman Dozy Mmobuosi.
