The Kenya U20 star will now be playing in the Spanish fourth division as he continues to enjoy a meteoric rise since moving to Spain.

Kenyan international Amos Wanjala has secured a move to Spanish fourth tier club Athletic Club Torrellano where he is set to continue his development.

The Kenya U18 captain has joined the club courtesy of a collaboration with Tarragona-based Nastic Sports Academy, having impressed since moving to Spain from St Anthony’s Boys Kitale.

“Amos arrives at AC Torrellano thanks to the collaboration with Nastic Sports Academy for the professional development of young international talents in Spain,” Athletic Club Torrellano said via social media post.

The defender has enjoyed a meteoric rise since helping his school to the National Secondary School Games football title in 2023 alongside some of his talented team-mates like Aldrine Kibet and Allan Kasavuli.

This earned them a move to the Nastic Soccer Academy before they guided Kenya to the final of the CECAFA U18 tournament in Kisumu in November that year.

He continued his rise, and in January, signed professional terms with Gimnastic Tarragona U19 side after passing the academy trials with flying colours.

He made his debut as a substitute as Gimnastic lost 4-2 to Barcelona's junior side in March this year, but it was an unforgettable experience for him.

Wanjala received a call-up to the Kenya U20 team for the Four-Nations tournament in Malawi in March but did not honour it due to club commitments, the call coming soon after he had just made the switch to Gimnastic Tarragona.

He would, however, be involved at the COSAFA tournament in July when he was among the bright spots as Kenya exited at the group stage.

His new club will begin their Tercera Division (Fourth Division) campaign on Saturday with an away clash against Utiel.
