The club has been dealt a major blow as the 22-year-old faces lengthy spell on the sidelines.

FC Talanta midfielder Agustine Kuta has revealed that he is aiming to return from injury within the next six or eight weeks.

The offensive midfielder was forced off training with a leg injury just hours before ahead of their Football Kenya Federation Premier League match against Bandari FC.

Kuta revealed on Friday that he underwent a successful surgery and revealed that he would miss the remainder of the season.

“ Gutted to have suffered a fracture on the fifth metatarsal base today in training. I will be out for 6-8 weeks.

My season is as good as done. Day one of my road to recovery begins today, I have come back from knee surgery, and I will bounce back more vital than ever,” Kutah posted on Instagram.

Kuta was expected to marshall the midfield in the remaining league matches as they fight to retain their top-flight status.

Before the setback, the former Mathare United player had managed four premier league appearances with the club since signing in the mid-season transfer window.

He joins defender Shela Mandela on the treatment table, who recently underwent a successful head surgery.

Mandela sustained the injury on April 4 during a league match against Wazito at Ruaraka Grounds, where he had to be rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Kuta’s last match of the season was a league match against Sofapaka on Monday, where they played to a one-all draw.

FC Talanta are placed 13th on the log with 26 points from 25 matches, while their Saturday opponent Bandari are sixth with 39 points with a game at hand.
