A football commentator believes with 42 goals and 23 assists, Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman deserves more praise at Atalanta.

Nigeria's Ademola Lookman has been lauded by a football commentator for his sensational form for Serie A leaders Atalanta BC.

The 27-year-old Super Eagles forward proved to be the hero once again for the Europa League qualifiers, scoring a dramatic late winner to seal a 2-1 victory over AC Milan on Friday night.

Lookman's dramatic goal three minutes from time not only secured all three points for Atalanta but also extended their unbeaten run to an impressive 13 matches across all competitions, including nine consecutive wins.

While the Nigerian had a relatively quiet performance for large parts of the game, he remained a constant threat to the Milan defence, coming close to scoring on a couple of occasions.

However, the former Everton man made his mark when it mattered most, capitalising on a lapse in concentration from the Milan backline to sneak in a stunning header and net the winner.

After the match, Lookman was deservedly named the man of the match, and now, one commentator has taken to social media to heap praise on the in-form forward.

Man of the match, Ademola Lookman celebrates the winner.

“A player not praised anywhere near enough,” TNT Sports' Adam Summerton wrote on X. 'For Atalanta he's scored 42 goals & provided 23 assists in 95 appearances. He's also scored a hat-trick in a major European final.'

This latest victory sees Lookman’s Atalanta leapfrog Napoli at the top of the Serie A table, with the Nigerian's eight goals and four assists in just 12 league appearances this season playing an important role in their flying start to the campaign.
