Boniface did not hold back when responding to a fan who trolled him days after the Super Eagles heartbreak in Uyo.

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has responded with characteristic wit after Nigeria’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The 24-year-old Bayer Leverkusen forward, who played in the fixture at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, took to his Snapchat channel to exchange banter with a fan who attempted to troll him following the team’s underwhelming performance.

Boniface uploaded a photo of himself getting a haircut by a female barber when a fan mocked him on Snapchat.

Without hesitation, the 2024 Bundesliga winner clapped back with a sharp response, reminding fans why he is still the King of banter.

However, the online exchange escalated when another user took a more personal jab, referencing his past relationship by suggesting: “Your own babe fit dey do OS” (a Nigerian slang implying prostitution work).

In a swift and biting response, Boniface reposted the comment and retorted, “Na why I no date anybody for ur family.”

The backlash stems from Nigeria’s failure to secure maximum points at home against Zimbabwe.

Boniface was one the players called out by fans on social media following the game on Tuesday, when he was involved in a heated exchange with fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen.

However, the pair have since moved on from the full-time drama.

Despite the social media exchanges, Boniface has remained lighthearted, proving once again that he is unafraid to engage in online banter despite the bigger challenges on the pitch.

Nigeria's Super Eagles suffered a setback against Zimbabwe in their 2026 World Cup bid.

The Super Eagles, who were riding high after a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali, were expected to dominate, but a late equaliser from Zimbabwe dashed their hopes of a crucial win.

Nigeria had taken the lead in the 74th minute when Victor Osimhen latched onto a precise cross from Ola Aina, to head home.

However, Eric Chelle's Eagles failed to close ranks, and Zimbabwe, who had posed a sporadic threat on the counter, capitalised on a defensive lapse in stoppage time.

Tawanda Chirewa slotted the ball past Stanley Nwabali at his near post, silencing the home supporters and leaving Nigeria’s qualification bid in serious jeopardy.

The result has left fans and pundits frustrated, with many calling for a reassessment of the team’s tactics and squad selection.

As pressure mounts on the Super Eagles, Boniface and his teammates will look to bounce back in their next qualifier, knowing that anything short of victory could spell disaster for their already paper thin World Cup hopes.
