The midfielder played only one half with Lazio, but scored twice and provided an assist in his cameo
Super Eagles’ emerging star Fisayo Dele-Bashiru made his debut for new club Lazio in a pre-season friendly against CS Auronzo.
Dele Bashiru impresses after Lazio switch
The attacking midfielder recently made the switch to Lazio from Turkish side Hatayspor on a one-year loan with an obligation to buy and has taken little time to impress his new employers after starring in their first Pre-season match ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Dele-Bashiru was introduced as a half-time substitute for Lazio against CS Auronzo and went on to score twice and provide an assist as the Biancocelesti ran out 23-0 winners against their pre-season opponents.
Dele-Bashiru’s career so far
The Nigeria international has enjoyed a fine start to life with the Super Eagles, after scoring on his debut against South Africa in a World Cup qualifier.
Before joining Lazio, the midfielder had turned out for Hatayspor, scoring eight goals in his only season with the club so far, finishing the season as their joint-top scorer.
After leaving Manchester City’s academy in 2021, Dele-Bashiru enjoyed a spell with Sheffield Wednesday before moving abroad for the first time to play in Turkey.
Lazio will be hoping that their new signing brings his wealth of experience to the team as well as his obvious quality on the ball.
