Serie A has released its fixtures for the opening day of the 2024/2025 season, with slippery games for Super Eagles stars led by Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman

The new Serie A season is just around the corner, and the fixtures for the opening day have been revealed, posing some tantalising challenges for the Nigerian contingent led by Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman in Italy's top flight.

Two of Nigeria's brightest stars, Osimhen and Lookman, will have their work cut out for them as they embark on their campaigns with tricky away matches.

Dethroned champions Napoli, led by the talismanic Osimhen, will face a daunting task as they travel to take on Hellas Verona, looking to reclaim their lost glory under the guidance of new manager Antonio Conte.

Osimhen, whose future in Naples remains shrouded in uncertainty, will be hoping to replicate his goalscoring exploits from last season, where he netted 15 times in 25 appearances - the highest tally among Nigerian players in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Europa League winners Atalanta, featuring the impressive Lookman, will also face a challenging away fixture against Lecce.

The Nigerian winger, who found the net 11 times in 31 games last season, will be aiming to pick up where he left off and lead his team to another successful campaign.
