Stanley Nwabali has finally broken his silence after the goalkeeper was snubbed by CAF’s for the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
A few days ago, the Confederation of African Football announced the final list for the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
The list, which was reduced to three goalkeepers, had Cameroon’s Andre Onana, Ivory Coast’s Yahia Fofana and South Africa’s Rowen Williams.
However, Nigerian goalkeeper Nwabali was left out of the last three top goalkeepers despite his impressive performance at the 2023 AFCON tournament.

Nwabali response to CAF snub
Super Eagles' number one goalkeeper Nwabali has taken to his social media to react to the CAF snub.
The shot-stopper posted on his official X account and added a two-word caption, “We move!!!.”
His impact in the tournament has not been recognised by CAF as he was left out of the goalkeeper list.
His omission from the top three goalkeeper lists has caused a lot of uproar on social media, with many claiming he deserves to make the list.
Nwabali had a decent outing with the Super Eagles team at the 2023 African Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast.
The Chippa goalkeeper kept four clean sheets at the tournament and made two penalty saves against South Africa to help Nigeria to the final.
Following his omission, the Nigerian international will be looking to prove his worth again in next year's AFCON tournament in Morroco.
