Nigeria's Wilfred Ndidi will have to make adjustments at Leicester City after the departure of his midfield partner.

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi faces a new challenge at Leicester City following the departure of his midfield partner Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea.

The Foxes confirmed the transfer on their official channels, bringing an end to the duo's successful partnership.

Ndidi, who experienced a career revival under former manager Enzo Maresca, will now have to adapt to life without the coach and Dewsbury-Hall in Leicester's engine room.

The pair formed a formidable midfield combination that was instrumental in the club's immediate return to the Premier League after their relegation to the Championship.

The Nigerian midfielder flourished in his new role as one of Maresca's "double 8s" alongside Dewsbury-Hall, moving from his traditional number 6 position.

Despite battling injuries, Ndidi contributed impressively with six goals and six assists in 36 matches during their promotion-winning campaign.

Dewsbury-Hall, who has now reunited with Maresca at Chelsea, was even more prolific, recording 12 goals and 15 assists as Leicester clinched the Championship title.

His performances earned him both the Player and Players' Player of the Season awards, as well as a place in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season.

The transfer, however, marks the end of Dewsbury-Hall's long association with Leicester, having joined the club as an 8-year-old.

He made his debut in January 2020 and went on to make 128 appearances for the Foxes, scoring 17 goals.

For Ndidi, the departure of both his midfield partner and the manager who revitalised his career presents a new challenge.

The Super Eagles star will need to establish a similar understanding with whoever steps into Dewsbury-Hall's role as Leicester look to re-establish themselves in the Premier League.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on how Ndidi adapts to these changes and whether he can maintain the impressive form he showed in Leicester's promotion campaign or who knows, he might be the next to depart from the King Power Stadium.
