AFC Leopards and Shabana clash in a high-stakes match, with coaches on the line, seeking redemption in a must-win encounter.

Struggling AFC Leopards, currently languishing in 15th place on the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL)  table, will be desperately seeking redemption as they face Shabana FC in a crucial encounter at Ulinzi Sports Complex this Sunday afternoon.

With four winless matches under their belt, Ingwe faithful have been left disappointed by the team's lackluster performance this season.

In their last outing, Leopards experienced the bitter taste of letting victory slip through their fingers in a 2-2 draw aganist Kenya Police FC, courtesy of a last-minute goal.

The pressure on coach Tom Juma has reached a boiling point, with fans vociferously demanding his resignation. However, the former international remains steadfast in his determination, asserting that Ingwe is on the brink of securing their first victory against Shabana.

“We have not had the best start of the season, that one I accept, but I want to assure the fans the team is ready to start winning matches against Shabana,” said Juma, acknowledging the challenges of integrating 15 new players.

The inclusion of Cliff Miheso and Kevin Kimani in the starting lineup against Kenya Polcie signals a potential retention of the duo.

Victor Omune, recovering from a knee injury, is also in contention for a starting role, injecting a sense of optimism into a squad desperate for a turnaround.

On the other side, Shabana FC coach Sammy Okoth acknowledges the daunting task ahead but exudes confidence in his players, vowing that they will not disappoint against the struggling AFC Leopards.

The Glamour Boys have had a disastrous return to the top-flight, remaining winless in the opening four matches with two defeats and two draws.

The Achilles' heel for Shabana has been their vulnerability in the closing stages of matches, conceding crucial goals. Coach Okoth, visibly discontent with this trend, has worked tirelessly to address the defensive lapses. “We have worked round the clock to address the weakness. As a coach, I am not happy with how we concede goals, and it is something we embarked to solve from the day we lost to Kariobangi Sharks,” said Okoth, emphasizing the collective responsibility of the entire team.

Striker Enock Agwanda, a recent addition to the Glamour Boys after leaving Kakamega Homeboyz, is set to make his mark in the matchday squad. Okoth confirmed that defender Rogers Aloro, who picked up a knock in the previous encounter against Sharks, is fit and available to start against Ingwe.

As both coaches find themselves under scrutiny, this fixture carries additional weight as it marks the first meeting between the two sides in 17 years.

Shabana, newly promoted into the league, will be looking to make a statement against a struggling AFC Leopards side that has only just found the back of the net in their recent draw against Kenya Police.

Tom Juma, burdened by the expectations and demands of the Ingwe faithful, is well aware of the importance of securing a win in this encounter. The match not only serves as a battleground for three crucial points but also as a defining moment for Juma's tenure as the head coach.

As the teams clash at Ulinzi Sports Complex, the air will be thick with anticipation and pressure, making this fixture a must-watch for football enthusiasts eager to witness a potential turning point for both AFC Leopards and Shabana FC.
