Kevin De Bruyne has reached another creative record with Manchester City putting him miles ahead of other Premier League chance creators
Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne is undoubtedly one of the most gifted creators in the Premier League era.
De Bruyne reaches Premier League milestone with assist against Leicester
The Belgian midfielder has repeatedly shown that he is one of the best to ever step foot on a pitch in England, but the numbers showhow special he has been since joining Manchester City from Wolfsburg in 2015.
The 31-year-old has already broken the record for the most assists in a single Premier League season with 20 assists provided for his teammates in the 2019/20 season, but he has gone a step further to show consistency in his quality with another EPL milestone.
De Bruyne provided an assist for Erling Haaland’s second goal against Leicester City in the Premier League in an eventual 3-1 win for the Cityzens.
Kevin De Bruyne the assist king
The assist was the 15th one this season that De Bruyne has provided, making him the first player to provide 15 assists or more in four separate Premier League seasons.
The next best tally after De Bruyne belongs to former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas who provided 15 assists or more in two seasons across his Premier League career.
No other player in Premier League history apart from Fabregas and De Bruyne have managed to provide 15 assists in more than one Premier League season, showing how special De Bruyne’s tally of four seasons with 15 or more assists is.
The Manchester City midfielder provided 18 assists in the 2016/17 season and followed that up with 16 assists in the 2017/18 season before reaching 20 assists in the 2019//20 season and notching 15 assists in the 2022/23 season so far, with eight games left for Manchester City to play.
