The Harambee Stars midfielder was dominant in midfield as Swedish giants IF Elfsborg comfortably dispatched IF Brommapojkarna on Saturday.

Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma was on song in the middle of the park as IF Elfsborg brushed aside IF Brommapojkarna 3-0 in an Allsvenskan clash that took place on Saturday.

Ouma, who has enjoyed a lot of playing time this season having played a fringe role last year, is starting to look comfortable in a deep lying playmaker role due to his ball retention capabilities, press resistance and good range of passing.

He won all three of his areal duels, three out of five of his ground duels and in possession, produced two key passes, underpinning his desire to be at the heart of positive moves for the club.

The match started with Brommapojkarna taking the kickoff and pushing forward. However, IF Elfsborg quickly took control and dominated the early proceedings at Borås Arena. Despite an early scare, the home side settled into a rhythm and created several scoring opportunities.

In the seventh minute, IF Elfsborg had their first significant chance when Ahmed Qasem’s deep ball found Arber Zeneli, though the effort was blocked. Brommapojkarna managed to play through Elfsborg's press at times but failed to break down the solid yellow-and-black defense.

Midway through the first half, the pace of the game slowed, but IF Elfsborg soon found their breakthrough. Terry Yegbe intercepted a pass, leading to a swift move involving Niklas Hult and Michael Baidoo. Simon Hedlund received the ball on the right and coolly placed it into the far corner for a 1-0 lead.

Just before halftime, Brommapojkarna nearly equalised, but a crucial block from Sebastian Holmen ensured Elfsborg went into the break with their lead intact. The visitors started the second half brightly, controlling possession and earning a couple of corners, but Elfsborg's defense held firm.

Elfsborg then regained control and created multiple chances. Michael Baidoo had two close efforts, and  Ouma even came close with a header over the bar. Ahmed Qasem also forced a save from the Brommapojkarna goalkeeper with a low shot.

As the match progressed, Elfsborg exploited the spaces in Brommapojkarna's defense. In the 82nd minute, Rami Kaib's cross found Simon Hedlund, who set up Michael Baidoo for a well-placed shot into the net, making it 2-0.

In the 87th minute, substitute Eggert Gudmundsson capitalized on a defensive error to score his first Allsvenskan goal, sealing the 3-0 victory. Late in the match, Camil Jebara provided a cross for Per Frick, whose header was saved, but Elfsborg comfortably secured three points.

Timothy Ouma's performance was a key highlight, as he continues to cement his role in the team with his impressive midfield displays. His contributions were pivotal in ensuring IF Elfsborg's dominant win and their strong restart in the Allsvenskan.
