Former Vipers Sports Club forward Karim Ndugwa faces a race against time ahead of the local transfer deadline, September 21.
Ndugwa is among the players released by the Ugandan champions in the summer transfer window.
Despite being linked to several clubs, Ndugwa is yet to find a new home and currently risks sitting out the half of the new season already underway if a last-minute deal does not materialise.
Ndugwa came close to joining SC Villa after reportedly making a strong impression on Serbian coach Dusan Stojanovic where he was training following his release from Vipers.
Villa wanted him as a suitable replacement for new-signing Denis Ojara who suffered a long-term injury.
However, negotiations between the player and Villa collapsed after he suggested a short-term contract with a significant sign-on fee.
On the other hand, Villa wanted to offer a three-year deal to which Ndugwa was skeptical to commit.
