FOOTBALL FIFA suspends Spanish FA president for kissing World Cup winner on the lips
FIFA moved to suspend Rubiales, who refused to apologize for kissing Jenni Hermoso on the lips.
Iniesta, who has three daughters, expressed his dismay at the situation that the Women’s national team has been put through, saying on X, “After what has happened this week, I would like to convey my sadness, as a person, as the father of three daughters, as a husband, and as a footballer, in the face of the events that we are experiencing in our football and around the Spanish women's team.”
The 2010 World Cup winner further noted how badly the incident has spoiled Spain’s Women’s World Cup win and called the debacle a shame.

He added, “I believe that we cannot tolerate performances like the ones we have seen, which have tarnished a milestone as big as winning a World Cup.

Finally, Iniesta condemned RFEF president Luis Rubiales for not doing the right thing by resigning his position in the wake of pressure to quit, saying, “Instead, we have had to put up with a president who has held on to his position, who has not admitted that his behaviour has been unacceptable and that it is damaging the image of our country and our football around the world.”
Many have hoped that Rubiales would do the honourable thing by resigning, but the suspended administrator continues to defy those calling for his resignation despite being suspended by FIFA.
