Kenyan rapper King Kaka is among those celebrating Spain’s Euro 2024 victory after the match fetched him over Ksh800,000 from a bet.
King Kaka placed a bet of $2,500 (Ksh322,500) on Spain to beat England in Sunday’s final which was to win him $6,575 (Ksh848,175) and got it spot on as Luis de la Fuente’s men claimed a 2-1 victory to be crowned European champions.
Teen sensation Lamine Yamal set up Nico Williams as the Spaniards broke the deadlock in the 47th minute at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium but substitute Cole Palmer equalised for England after a good pass from Jude Bellingham 17 minutes from time.
However, Spain kept probing and were rewarded with the second goal four minutes from time. Mikel Oyarzabal connected well with Marc Cucurella’s pass to slot home what turned out to be the winner.
It was a pensive wait for the rapper who revealed his delight after the final whistle.
“Thank you, Spain. Now we wait for Argentina. Messi do de ting,” he posted on X before another post on Instagram that read: “Thankyou Spain @lamineyamal Pole Sana @nanaowiti,” in refence to the Spanish youngster who was voted player of the match while consoling his partner Nana Owiti who was supporting England.

Music superstar Drake places Ksh38m bet on Canada to beat Argentina in Copa America semi-final
Canadian musician Drake has made a huge gamble by placing over Ksh38 million on his country to upset Argentina and make it to Copa America finals for the first time.
King Kaka is no stranger to big bets involving top football matches. In May, he wagered $5,000 (Ksh645,000) on Real Madrid to beat Bayern Munich in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League and made Ksh1.2 million after Los Blancos triumphed 2-1.
He is among music stars who take big risks on sporting events with Canadian superstar Drake also known to wager huge amounts on matches.
Just last week, Drake wagered $300,000 (Ksh38.4 million) on his home country Canada to defeat Argentina in the Copa America semi-finals but unlike King Kaka, he lost after Lionel Messi and Co secured a 2-0 victory to storm the final where they eventually defended their title following a 1-0 victory over Colombia on Monday morning.
