New Spain manager Luis de la Fuente began his tenure at the helm with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Norway
A first-half strike from Dani Olmo followed by a second-half brace from Joselu gave Spain a comfortable 3-0 victory over Norway at the Estadio La Rosaleda in their first match of Euro 2024 qualifying.
How it happened
Spain controlled possession in the early stages and took the lead through Dani Olmo of RB Leipzig in the 13th minute.
Towards the end of the first half Norway began to mount some pressure and they created a few good chances but the attackers failed to convert.
Norway attacker Fredrik Aursnes came closest to leveling before halftime, producing a sweet volley that forced Kepa Arrizabalaga into an impressive save.
Spain settled the game in the second half and wrapped up all three points thanks to substitute Joselu. He marked his international debut with two goals in as many minutes to give Spain a well-deserved 3-0 win.
