Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has been named in Gareth Southgate's England squad despite concerns over his injury status.
Saka’s fitness has been in serious doubt over the past week and the issues were heightened after he limped off against Lens in the UEFA Champions League.
The 22-year-old came off in the 34th minute and instantly caused panic among the fanbase.
Arsenal's Saka makes England squad despite injury
Several Arsenal fans have voiced their concerns over Saka's extremely high usage by Arteta and have spoken up against Saka's inclusion in Southgate's team for the October games.
“He is still being assessed,” Southgate said when asked about the situation.
“They (Arsenal) have got a big game this weekend and then there is another seven days before we play Australia and 10 days before we play Italy. So everyone will monitor everything.”
He continued:
“I can only go via what Mikel (Arteta) has said about the last few games. He is in contention for the weekend so we’ve obviously got a very important qualifier."
