Sofapaka came into the fixture on high momentum as head coach Robert Matano opted for an almost similar starting XI to the one that dispatched Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0, making just one change to the squad with Rodgers Kipkemoi coming on for Douglas Ochuoko.
Humphrey Mieno captained the side with Brandon Obiero in between the goal posts as Ronald Ssempala led the attack.
Police FC's Anthony Kimani went with Patrick Matasi in goal as Mohamed Musa captained the side, leading the defence.
First Half
The Batoto ba Mungu started the match well, piling the pressure on the law enforcers.
Their efforts yielded fruits early on in the first half as Joseph Kuloba opened the scoresheet after a howler from Police shot stopper Patrick Matasi.
Going a goal behind did not, however, deter the law enforcers as they raised the tempo in search of their equaliser.
They came close to restoring parity in the 27th minute as a dangerous attempt by Police FC's hit the goalpost.
Matano's charges withstood the on slaught to take back control of the game and head into half time leading 1-0.

Things got heated in the 56th minute when Police FC's Abud Omar got into violent confrontation with Sofapaka's Baron Ochieng, resulting into a yellow card for the latter as the former received his marching orders, leaving Police down to 10 men.
