The title race between Simba and Young Africans in the NBC Tanzania Premier League gets more interesting by the day as it moves closer to the finish line.

Roberto Oliviera’s charges dropped points away against Namungo FC on Wednesday night after they played out a 1-1 draw at the Majaliwa stadium.

In-form forward Jean Baleke opened the scoring in the 27th minute for the visitors slotting home Saido Ntibazonkiza’s freekick.

However, Namungo got a lifeline in the 39th minute when Simba goalkeeper Ally Salim poorly punched the ball towards his goal allowing Hassan Kabunda to level matters.

The hosts were able to see out the game and pick up a vital point, while for Simba, the draw leaves them four points behind defending champions and table leaders Young Africans, who are on 68 points and play away to Singida Big Stars FC on Wednesday.

A win for Yanga would stretch their lead to eight points on the log with three match days to go in the league.
