Cristiano Ronaldo has made a shocking thought on who should take over as new Man United manager if the club decides to part ways with Erik ten Hag.

Following Manchester United's recent setbacks, tension has risen even higher for Erik Ten Hag and his assistant Ruud van Nistelrooy at Old Trafford.

Manchester United was backed hugely to overcome Crystal Palace over the weekend, but they only managed a goalless draw. Similar to their draw at home against Twente in the Europa League, league phase.

Erik Ten Hag is not a newcomer to this kind of pressure. Last season, his job was on the line but Manchester United reaffirmed their confidence in their main man and went ahead to give him the players he wanted.

These continued underperformances continue to prove Cristiano Ronaldo right who made his thoughts clear by saying Manchester United needs a complete rebuild.

In the interview he was having with Rio Ferdinand, Cristiano pointed out that Ruud van Nistelrooy was a former player at the club so he has a better understanding of the players than Erik Ten Hag.

Considering Cristiano is a legend at the club and was a team mate to Ruud van Nistelrooy, he could be right.

Rumours doing the spins are indicating that Erik Ten Hag could be staring at another potential sacking but the favorite person for the hot seat is Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

At the state they are in right now, Manchester United need a manager just like Ruud. Erik Ten Hag's second chance is going begging, time is running and there will be no excuses for dropped points.

On Sunday, Manchester United will be at home to Tottenham. They might have overcome them in the past but Manchester United will have to be keen on this one otherwise it will be another ugly season.

United fans will be gutted if things don't go their way on Sunday. Tottenham beat Quarabag FK in their Europa League clash and will be looking to hunt down Manchester United for points.
