Shooters from the Class of 2002-2007 at Namilyango College emerged victorious in Season Three of the Ngo League, leaving Kitante Sports Complex on Saturday with the coveted prize.

The Ngo League, sponsored by Guinness, is among the prestigious alumni leagues uniting former students from elite schools.

The triumphant Shooters, under the guidance of coach Arnold Ayoma, displayed championship-worthy performances from the outset, solidifying their status as favourites.

After nine months of competitive football, they clinched both the league title and the shield on Saturday, joining Los Bandidos and Hornbills as previous champions.

Reflecting on their journey, Shooters Team Manager Joseph Kagame expressed gratitude to the players, league management, classmates, and Guinness for their support amid challenges.

Godwin Alionzi, arguably the tournament's standout player, showcased exceptional skills, contributing nine goals.

The team's strength lay in a collective effort, with players like Michael Musisi, William Kiggundu, James Tinkamanyire, Benon Katabira, Drake Murozi, and Asaph Opio all contributing to their success.

Goalkeeper Cranimer Muliiko secured the golden glove by conceding the fewest goals.

With a solid defense, Shooters emphasized the adage that while goals win games, defense wins championships.

In line with inclusivity, the team featured female players Brenda Lutalo, Twesigye Jemmy, and Faridah Nassali throughout the season.

Beyond the football action, Guinness added excitement with activations, games, and challenges, allowing participants to win prizes.

The event featured a lively performance by Vipi Band, captivating the audience for two hours.

Guinness Project Manager Patience Aguti expressed excitement about concluding the season and connecting with consumers in a comfortable and enjoyable space.
