Shabana FC take on Bidco United on Saturday, seeking a great start to avoid the struggles of last season.

Justine Omwando, Shabana's star midfielder who scored their first goal in the FKF Premier League after 17 years, is confident of a great 2024-25 season as they begin their campaign against Bidco United on Saturday.

Tore Bobe struggled on their top flight return last season, managing 14th place to escape relegation but Omwando is keen to avoid a repeat.

"We are going for maximum points against Bidco United, I urge our fans to turn up in large numbers and cheer us on," said Omwando.

Shabana FC have been boosted by their Ksh75 million three-year sponsorship deal with gaming firm SportPesa which should act as further motivation.

The Glamour Boys have backed coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo with 10 new signings which should bolster the squad and ensure they achieve the coach's target of a top 10 finish in the 2024-25 campaign.

Goalkeepers Maxwel Mulili and Stephen Ochieng joined from AFC Leopards and Murang’a Seal respectively.

Defenders who came in are Brian Bett, Meja Atariza, Brian Ochieng and Elvis Osok while midfielders Sam Kintu, Cliff Nyakeya, James Mazembe and Shem Odinga have also signed, adding experience and quality to the squad.

Their opponents Bidco United, meanwhile, finished 11th last season and are out for an improvement in fortunes.

Last season, Bidco defeated Shabana in the first round butShabana thrashed them 3-0 in the return match.
