NSL Migori Youth coach slams referee after Shabana loss but remains focused on promotion
Migori Youth FC assistant coach Sammy Owalo spoke after the Sunday afternoon match played at Simeon Nyachae Stadium.
After sealing their promotion, Shabana will now focus on the title race. They are in a close contest with Murang’a Seal, who also claimed their ticket to the Premier League for the 2023–24 season after a 1-0 win against Coastal Heroes at Mbaraki Stadium.
Both are on 64 points, but Seal – who have played one more game – are at the top courtesy of goal difference. A win for Shabana in the match they have at hand will propel them back to the summit of the NSL table.
As Migori congratulated Tore Bobe for winning and promotion, they are themselves in a tight battle for the third spot that guarantees promotion via play-offs.
