Shabana interim coach Oscar Kambona has shared why he thinks they should not be struggling to produce positive results in the FKF Premier League

Shabana interim coach Oscar Kambona believes that his charges have gained enough experience in the FKF Premier League to start delivering consistent results until the end of the season.

Shabana brushed aside Sofapaka 4-1 to return to winning ways after a period of struggling left them languishing in the relegation places.

They now sit 15th on the table with 14 points ahead of a tough outing against Bidco United in their final game of 2023 on Wednesday.

Speaking following the win, Kambona feels time has come for every player to perform, having now gained enough top flight experience.

“The time has come for everyone to perform,” Kambona said.

“I believe we still have depth in the team. I believe it was just a matter of time for them to gain experience to play in the Premier League.

“If you look, we arrived from the NSL in the first season and it was the first time we played in the Premier League, so, it is time for the boys, they are now learning how to take on the opponents without being scared, without being afraid.”

Kambona believes his players have regained confidence, which will only help them play while relaxed and become more mature.

“The confidence is back in the team and the more we keep on, the more we will mature.”

Kambona has revealed the three things Shabana must do in order to become a consistent side that can establish itself as a top flight club.

“We have to maintain our standards, we have to maintain our fitness and also stay focused.”
