Football Kenya Federation Premier League action continued with four matches on Thursday afternoon.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League(FKFPL) action continued on Thursday afternoon with four matches scheduled.

Bidco United welcomed Shabana FC at home in Thika as they looked for their sixth win of the campaign.

In the other encounter, KCB welcomed Nzoia Sugar at Police Sacco Stadium, hoping to close the gap with table leaders Gor Mahia.

Another clash was between FC Talanta and Kariobangi Sharks at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, while the fourth match of the evening was between Ulinzi Stars and Posta Rangers.

Bidco 1-0 Shabana

In Thika, the two teams created chances in the first half as they looked to break the deadlock, but they could not convert their opportunities. As a result, the score was 0-0 at the interval on the bumpy pitch.

Tore Bobe and Bidco continued to push for the opening goal after the restart, and it was the visitors who came very close to scoring. Ugandan defender Rodger Aloro's effort hit the post with Bidco goalkeeper John Otieno well-beaten.

The visitors tried to snatch a late winning goal in the closing stages of the encounter. However, the winning goal came for the hosts, and ultimately, Bidco scored through Eugene Ikutwa in the 89th minute of the tense match.

The win saw Bidco move to seventh position on the league table, while Shabana moved to 15th spot in the league standings.

FC Talanta 0-3 Kariobangi Sharks

Meanwhile, Kariobangi Sharks were desperate for a win when they traveled to Machakos to face FC Talanta at Machakos Stadium.

The Slum Boys were keen to end their six-match winless run in the league, while Talanta were eyeing their first win in the last four matches.

Kariobangi Sharks dominated the match from the start and went ahead in the 23rd minute when Geoffrey Onyango converted from the spot.

The Slum Boys added their second goal in the 34th minute when Keith Imbali extended Sharks' lead.

Talanta tried to respond with a goal, but Kariobangi Sharks stood firm at the back as they led 2-0 at the interval.

The Slum Boys extended their lead just 11 minutes into the second half when Stanley Wilson hit the back of the net, making it 3-0.

The 3-0 victory took Sharks to 13th spot on the league standings, while Talanta remained 11th on the table.

Ulinzi Stars 0-2 Posta Rangers

Meanwhile, Posta Rangers recorded an impressive victory over Ulinzi Stars at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

It took 33 minutes for the Mailmen to take the lead when Brian Otieno scored with a beautiful strike to make it 1-0 to Rangers.

Ulinzi tried to respond with a goal, but Posta stood firm at the back, and they led 1-0 at the interval.

Rangers continued to attack after the restart and extended their lead in the 67th minute of the match.

Ulinzi were pushing forward in numbers, leaving them vulnerable at the back, and they were nearly punished by Boniface Muchiri as the hosts pushed for a consolation, which they failed to get.

KCB 0-1 Nzoia Sugar

Meanwhile, bottom-placed Nzoia Sugar were made to work for their third win of the season following their 1-0 win over KCB at Police Sacco Stadium.

Both teams were limited to shots from range in the early exchanges, with the first attempt on target coming in the 24th minute of the match.

A long throw-in from Joseph Oyugi caused KCB all sorts of problems and Victor Maliachi pounced with the forward able to direct a powerful header on goal, but KCB custodian Gabriel Andika saved.

Nzoia had another chance via the head of Joseph Wafuka on the cusp of half-time following a bit of creativity from a set-piece situation, but the center-back failed to hit the target with his effort.

KCB aimed to punish Nzoia on the counter-attack with the introduction of Danson Namasaka after the break, and the former Bandari man aimed a rasping shot at Fred Munyendo's goal in the 50th minute, but the Nzoia goalkeeper took all the sting out of the shot before gathering it on the rebound.

Ten minutes later, the Sugar Millers went ahead courtesy of Barisa Mohamed's strike.

KCB held up to 73 per cent ball possession after the 80th minute mark but were unable to break down the stubborn Nzoia defence.
