Tranguil is expected to jet into the country this weekend, with the team scheduled to start pre-season training next week.
KCCA FC acquired the services of Portuguese coach Sergio Trangil last Monday. The tactician signed a two-year deal to take over the role that was occupied by Morley Byekwaso.
Interim boss Jackson Mayanja and his assistant Charles Ssenyange have since been shown the exit to allow Tranguil, full control of the team.
One of the first things to notice about the new tactician is the fact that he hardly stays in a job for a year.
Most of his stints have been brief and left many wondering whether it will be the same case at the Lugogo-based club.

With both Mandela National Stadium, Namboole and Nakivubo undergoing refurbishment, St. Mary’s has been the go-to facility for Ugandan clubs and national teams.
In a live television interview Friday morning, KCCA Chairman Martin Ssekajja revealed that Tranguil had ticked all the boxes to be selected for the job, and the club is confident he will stay for long and help return silverware to Lugogo.
“He gave us his methodology. By the way, we had quite a number of interviews with this gentleman,” Ssekajja said.

FOOTBALL Traguil handed the tools for his Ugandan job
As the Kasasiro Boys go in search of their first piece of silverware since 2019, KCCA has decided to break tradition in the appointment of their technical staff, looking outside rather than working with former players.
“For the last couple of months, when we interviewed him, he really ticked all the boxes in terms of style of play, in terms of his method of addressing the team and the players around him.
“We felt he ticked all the boxes, and we need to give him the opportunity when he is here to see what he can do.”

FOOTBALL KCCA FC's Sergio Traguil jets in this weekend
KCCA FC chairman Martin Ssekajja has confirmed that their Portuguese head coach Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil will be in the country this weekend as preparations for the 2023/2024 season commence at the Lugogo-based club.
Key on the agenda for Tranguil and his coaching staff will be winning silverware, something that has yet to happen since the club won the CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2019.
The club has hired Jackson Magera as its first-team coach, and having been part of the successful KCCA side that dominated Ugandan football between 2016 and 2019, the former Villa manager will be hoping to help his boss scale the same heights.
