Ghana and Super Eagles join forces for Leicester
Super-subs Iheanacho and new signing Fatawu Issahaku combined to grab the game's only goal as the Foxes defeated their hosts Bournemouth in the round of 16 at the Vitality Stadium.
Ghana’s Issahaku latched onto a lovely pass from fellow West African, Iheanacho, before firing an unstoppable effort into the top corner in the 105th minute.
It proved the game’s pivotal moment as Leicester held on to knock the Cherries out of the competition.
For Issahaku, it was his fourth goal of the season for the Foxes while his Nigerian teammate Iheanacho underlined his eye for the spectacular when he created the chance following a fine build-up play.
Despite coming from neighbouring nations, Issahaku and Iheanacho showed no signs of rivalry as they inspired the Foxes’ safe passage into the next round.
The duo and their Leicester City side will now wait for the quarterfinal draws slated for later on Wednesday.
