Barcelona's former captain sent a powerful message to the club's fans.
Lionel Messi recently suggested that he plans on returning to Barcelona in some sort of capacity, as he promised Blaugrana fans he would see them soon.
The 37-year-old is the club's greatest-ever player, but he left on heartbreaking terms as Barcelona's finances meant they could not offer him a renewal, which forced an unplanned exit.

Inter Miami plot sensational move to pair Messi with Kevin De Bruyne
MLS Supporters Shield champions Inter Miami have ambitious Premier League plans.
What followed was a move to PSG and after an end to his unhappy two-year stint, he was strongly linked with a return to his boyhood club, but again, finances prevented Barcelona from seeing the deal through.
Messi is increasingly closer to the end of his career now, and while it is highly unlikely he will play for the club again as a professional, there are many ways he could be useful to Barcelona.
What Messi said
Speaking in an interview with Spanish publication MD, the Argentine expressed his undying affection for Barcelona and promised fans of the club he will return.
“My message to Barça fans? I miss you a lot. I hope we can meet again soon,” Messi said. “I hope you feel proud of being part of the best club in the world.”
Messi currently has a contract and unfinished business with Inter Miami, and while it cannot be ruled out that he will make a sensational return to Camp Nou for a brief spell to give him the goodbye he truly deserves, it's more likely he assumes an administrative role, as Messi has always expressed his desire to become a sporting director, a role at the club currently occupied by Deco, another ex-player.
Also, he could just be returning to Barcelona as a regular in the executive box of Camp Nou to watch games as a fan, as Messi's home is in the city, and he has always maintained he and his family will return there as their permanent residence.
