Nairobi City Stars were leading FC Talanta 2-0 before avoidable defensive mistakes allowed the Ken Kenyatta-coached outfit to bounce back to force a 2-2 draw.
Nairobi City Stars head coach has berated his side’s careless defensive display after his team drew 2-2 with FC Talanta in a match played at the Kasarani Annex on Wednesday afternoon.
Stars were leading by two goals scored by Kevin Etemesi, before Talanta fought back through goals by Alex Luganji from the penalty spot and December Kaikah in the 90th minute.
“I have to beat both teams. We lost our last match. Today we had a 2-2 final result which is an improvement from the last match, but it is still a disappointment from being 2-0 up and allowing them to come back,” Muyoti said.
“ Talanta are usually strong in the second half. We tried to manage it but it was impossible. We conceded a penalty which epitomized our poor defensive display. You just let a player come in and take the shot which was too cheap. We cannot allow such mistakes in the top flight.
Muyoti has challenged his charges to improve ahead of their final clash of the season against Gor Mahia at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.
The former AFC Leopards captain also praised Kevin Etemesi for his performance against the Ken Kenyatta- coached outfit.
“We have one final match and it is an area we need to look at. I will pick the positives from a loss to a draw and I will pick the positives, such as Etemesi’s performance.
“He is very present in the final third which is very good for us in the present and future.”
City Stars are 15th on 34 points, winning eight, drawing 10 and losing 15 of their fixtures.
