In an impressive move, SC Villa secured Semugera's signature on a free contract, beating Wakiso Giants, who were also vying for the midfielder's services.

SC Villa, the record Uganda Premier League champions, have made an exciting acquisition by signing midfielder Misi Diego Semugera from Police FC.

The highly talented Semugera joins the Jogoo on a three-year contract, strengthening Villa's midfield for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

SC Villa secured Semugera's signature on a free contract, beating Wakiso Giants, who were also vying for the midfielder's services.

The 23-year-old was an itegral part of Police’s failed promotion campaign back to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

He was also impressive in the Cops’ run to the Stanbic Uganda Cup final, where they lost 1-0 to Vipers, and was recognized as the tournament’s best midfielder.

He leaves Police after two seasons, and was part of the team as they were relegated to the FUFA Big League in 2022, playing 21 times in that season.

Semugera's transfer was facilitated by Prosper Sports Agency, which represents the talented midfielder.

Interestingly, Semugera is the second player under Prosper's representation to make the move to SC Villa, following Denis Ojara's transfer from Onduparaka.

Prosper has a solid presence at Villa, with other players like Patrick Kakande, Hakim Mutebi, defender Kenneth Ssemakula, and captain Meddie Kibirige also under their representation.

The journey to finalizing Semugera's deal had a minor hiccup as the player's father, an avid fan, initially advised him against joining Villa's sworn rivals.

However, Semugera remained steadfast in his desire to join SC Villa and managed to convince his father that this move would be the best option for his career.

The midfielder's determination to don the famous Villa jersey speaks volumes about his commitment and ambition.

Furthermore, SC Villa has further bolstered their squad by securing deals with two additional players, defender Peter Onzima and goalkeeper Norman Angufidru, according to the Sports Nation.

Both players have been training with the Jogoos this week and have reportedly made a strong impression on the Serbian coach Dusan Stojanovic.

Onzima, who previously played for Busoga United after his stint with BUL FC, brings a wealth of experience to Villa's defence.

The talented defender has also had notable spells with Edgars FC and will undoubtedly contribute to the team's defensive stability.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Angufidru, who featured for Onduparaka last season after joining from Calvary in 2022, is set to fill the void left by the departing Martin Elungat.

With previous experience at IUIU in the University Football League and Mvara Boys, Angufidru has proven himself to be a reliable shot-stopper, and his arrival is expected to further strengthen SC Villa's squad.
