Kenya Police FC interim coach Salim Babu has revealed his boys will take it one game at a time if they are to make the most out of an inconsistent season.

Police started the year off with a flyer courtesy of a 3-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday afternoon to end their run of two consecutive losses.

Speaking to Pulse Sports, Babu, who led his previous club Nzoia Sugar to an unprecedented title challenge last season and also guided Junior Stars to the finals of the CECAFA U18 Championship, has revealed he was happy with how his boys executed the gameplan, especially considering they took an early lead through Musa Mohammed.

“The game was good because we had prepared very well and the boys did what was required of them so getting all these three points will boost us completely,” Babu said.

“If you look, the game was difficult towards the end but it has given us a good platform to prepare for the other,” he added.

“We knew that the players who started would do what was required of them and then the others would then come to complete the job, so we wanted an early goal.

“It was a good plan because of how we did in training and it worked well in the game. We have a plan to score early and then settle the game quickly.”

Police are currently eighth on 24 points, 13 behind league leaders Gor Mahia, but Babu is optimistic getting his boys to go on a run will get his side back on track to finish as high as they can.

“We are trying to forget those other games and focusing on the next game because that is the one we are looking at.

“If we win two or three games, we will come up very well so that is all we want - to win -. The other games are passed by now, so we are going to focus on those ahead.”

It has been a tumultuous season for Police who have already parted ways with two coaches this season.

Francis Baraza was sacked in September before the club brought in Zdravko Logarusic, but the former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards coach was given his marching orders after criticising his players in a volatile press conference following their loss to KCB in December.
