The Brewers saw their title chalked off last season after the campaign was annulled.
Tusker FC right-back Daniel Sakari is looking to retain the league this season after assuming leadership of the log standings following the win over Wazito.
The dependable defender provided an assist in their 2-0 win over Wazito, a victory that placed them at the top of the table with 54 points from 25 matches.
The hosts could have won by a bigger margin if they had taken the several goal-scoring opportunities, mostly created by Sakari, who hoped the team would post an improved performance when they take on Nzoia Sugar on Saturday.
"We came into the match knowing Wazito is a good side as they had played against strong teams and posted good results," Sakari said while analysing the Wazito win.
